These awards are held annually in conjunction with the National Youth Week in Tanzania, as these awards provide national recognition and support for young people to make positive contributions, showcase their potential to society and the nation as a whole, provide capacity strengthening to recognized youth to uplift their initiatives towards creating more green jobs for other youth.

REVIEW THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

The nominee must have been engaged in the work for more than 3 years, either in a professional or voluntary capacity.
The nominee must be a Tanzanian citizen and the development work must be taking place in Tanzania (Mainland or Zanzibar).
The nominee should not be older than 35 years during the Awards period.
Individuals/entities/organizations can nominate themselves or be nominated by someone who can accurately describe their work with evidence.
Winners must agree to take part in publicity generated by TEYA and its partners.
Past award winners are not eligible to participate again.

Awards will be decided on the basis of:

AWARDS PROCESS

AYT will formulate an organizing committee led by the Executive Coordinator and Founder of the Award initiative, supported by young motivated volunteers to lead the following:

Identify categories of awards based on need and impact.
Open nominations for individuals, entities, and organizations.
Judges committee with ministry officers and authorities selects 4–5 nominees per category for voting.
3 finalists per category receive a trophy and certificate.
Final winners receive additional capacity development training.

The Entire Nomination Process

TEYA Events Section

All nominees are given a platform to exhibit their work done through photos, publications, videos and prototypes; in another hand youth stakeholders including private sector, service providers, government agencies and development partners are provided opportunities to provide informations and opportunities for young people through exhibitions.

Panel discussion: Multi-sector actors will have an opportunity to share and transfer knowledge and information to youth. It will also provide a room for youth to raise their voices on the challenges they encounter and explore opportunities. The panel discussion will be represented by experts amongst all being engaged stakeholders based on their expert field area and innovative youth.

This will be platforms for youth from the youth led CSO, Youth Start ups and Individual youth out of school to participate on innovation pitching competition that will look for ideas that are solving community problems and create more green jobs. TEYA will provide mentorship, couching , technical support and financial or kit to scale their ideas in work.

This is the meaningfully and safe space platform that gather more than 500 youth and youth stakeholders to recognize and celebrate youth achievements in Tanzania.

Are the winners from each category identified, EGI through TEYA program will bring all winners to Winners Accadem which will equip and strengthening their soft skills development in various segment to enable them to grow their initiative and have mind-set of creating more green jobs for youth.
