Goal
Tanzania Emerging Youth Awards (TEYA) goal is to raise youth profile, build capacity and highlight the contribution they are making towards developing a fairer, sustainable, peaceful, and prosperous future for the United Republic of Tanzania. TEYA gives national recognition and support to young men and women aged 15–35 who demonstrate capacity and potential to make positive contributions to their communities, nation, and the world in finding sustainable solutions.
This has really impacted and increased the reach for the piloted initiative.

400 youth attended physically, 323 watched via YouTube live, and more than 5,000 viewers joined via Clouds TV during the awarding ceremony.

Government Partnership
Successful, sustained partnership with the Government of Tanzania through the Prime Minister’s Office — Labour, Youth, Employment and People with Disabilities — as an implementing partner and annual endorser of the initiative.

20 development partners were engaged — spanning private sector, government and development organizations — to kick off and scale the initiative.
Awareness & Motivation
Increased awareness and motivation among youth to use their time, skills, knowledge, and resources to drive positive development in Tanzanian communities.

Contributed to changing negative perceptions about youth and youth investments, encouraging trust and support for young innovators and entrepreneurs.
